About George

George is the current Ironman 70.3 European Champion

George began racing in Triathlon aged 12. As a Junior he has raced at Elite level for GB British Triathlon in World and European Championships winning National Championships,  the European Duathlon Championship in 2014 and finishing 20th at the World Junior Triathlon Championships in Chicago in 2015.

The end 2017 bought a change of direction for George and with a long time interest in the history and roots of the sport George took the decision to start racing over the longer distances, half Ironman and Ironman, and pursue a career as a professional athlete.

In his first year over this distance George won the Castle Triathlon Series breaking the established course records at the events in Chomoldely Castle in Cheshire, Chantilly in France and Hever Castle in Kent.

In September of the same year he won the British Middle Distance Championship breaking the course record which stood for 7 years.

As well as these longer distance races George won the BUCS Standard Distance Triathlon, 3rd at BUCS Sprint Triathlon and 6th at the British Triathlon Elite Championship at Blenheim Palace.

In his first Pro race at Challenge Mallorca George finished 8th in a high quality and experienced field of Pro athletes.

Since turning professional George has been on the podium nine times over the 70.3 or middle distance including wins at the iconic Vitoria-Gasteiz in Spain, Ironman 70.3 Staffordshire and Weymouth in the UK, the Outlaw X and finished 12th in his first 70.3 World Championships in Nice, France.
